Dog on the Street | Phnom Penh, Cambodia | Travel Photo

Today's daily travel photo is a close up portrait of a friendly dog roaming the streets of Phnom Penh, Cambodia shot using a shallow DOF.

Today’s daily travel photo is a close up portrait of a friendly dog roaming the streets of Phnom Penh, Cambodia.  As a travel photography tip, it’s sometimes a good idea to hit the streets with a short prime lens, such as a fast 50 mm.  This makes your photography less intrusive by having a smaller lens attached to your body and allows you to shoot with a shallow depth of field.  If you notice in this photo really only the tip of the dogs nose is in sharp focus.  This is a travel photo from Phnom Penh, Cambodia.  To view the rest of my travel gallery from Phnom Penh, Cambodia click on the photo.

I just picked up a ‘nifty fifty’ about a month ago and I’m in love with it. I never though about it being less intrusive, but you’re absolutely right. It’s a lot less intimidating without my massive zoom on it.
