Today’s daily travel photo is of a yodelling Indian gypsy lady that I encountered in a small village in the Thar Desert region of Rajasthan, India.  Meeting locals scattered along the desert was a fascinating experience and offered a true glimpse at the lives of those living in small rural communities.  Her yodelling was impressive but had a harsh tone.  I gave her a tip for her efforts and then went on my way with the camel tour I was on.  This is a travel photo from the Thar Desert, India.  To view more photos from the Thar Desert click on the photo.

How beautiful and fascinating. I have done a lot of research about gypsies in Eastern Europe. Are there books about Indian gypsies that you’d recommend?

    Cheers and thanks!
