This is a travel image of Nanta Korean performers where knives are being wielded in this non-verbal comedy that delighted a large crowd in Seoul’s Myeongdong shopping district in South Korea.  Heralded and championed as the longest running show in Korea, Nanta (aka Cookin’ Nanta or Cookin’) is a comedy performance about three cooks desperately trying to arrange a wedding banquet under the supervision of an incompetent nephew.  Acrobatics, magic tricks and audience participation including the use of Korean samul nori music make this show quite unique.  As I’m just mere hours away from leaving my Korean apartment, this type of performance is one of the many things I’ll miss about living in Korea.  To view more photos from my jaunt around Myeongdong, Seoul, Korea click on the talented performers above.
