Cambodia Slideshow Travel Video Series Part 1

This is video 1 of 112 from my candid Cambodia travel slideshow series featuring Khmer culture, Khmer people, Khmer food, Khmer attractions and Khmer arts in each individual twenty photo video.  This particular series will showcase photos from several previous visits to Cambodia in 2010 and 2011 including travel to Phnom Penh, Sihanoukville, Siem Reap, Battambang and the Temples of Angkor.

Cambodia was the country I most visited on my nearly one year journey around Asia in 2010/11.  Its charming locals, cheap prices, fabulous attractions and phenomenal food kept me coming back time and again.  By the time I flew back home I had visited over four times.  For a country that has overcome so much adversity in recent decades, the Khmer people are incredibly resilient. Visiting Cambodia will certainly leave an impression upon you.

Some of the top highlights from my journey include as follows:

> Visiting the magnificent Temples of Angkor over the duration of three days

> Waking up early to capture sunrise at Angkor Wat

> Visiting my favorite temples at Angkor including Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom, Bayon, Preah Khan, Banteay Srei and Ta Prohm

> Gormandizing on delicious local Khmer dishes and fabulous international cuisine in Siem Reap, Cambodia

> Taking buses from various destination points where I was treated to scenic rural views

> Wandering around local markets in Siem Reap, Battambang and Phnom Penh

> Taking the Bamboo Train (also known as nori) in rural Battambang, Cambodia

> Taking a guided tuk-tuk tour around rural villages in Battambang

> Sampling exotic delicacies such as fried crickets

> Bicycling around Siem Reap and Battambang

> Learning how to make delicious Cambodian cuisine (Khmer food) by taking a local cooking course

> Listening to traditional Khmer music

> Attending a traditional Apsara performance in Siem Reap along with a delicious Khmer buffet

> Learning about the atrocities of the Khmer Rouge by visiting the Killing Fields and Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum

> Taking a tuk-tuk tour around Phnom Penh visiting both the posh and impoverished areas o the city

> Heading to Sihanoukville to enjoy the beaches and relax

Cambodia is a country that will dazzle you with its culture, cuisine and friendly locals.   This is part 1 of 112. Check back daily to check out my latest travel video in the series.
