Bibimbap, kimbap, and haejangguk! Korean food is great, but there are days when we crave anything that resembles Western food. Enter Korean McDonald’s to the rescue!
In this video Sam and Audrey throw their healthy habits to the wind and make their way to the local McDonald’s where they indulge in greasy junk food. We order two double quarter pounders with cheese along with supersized fries and sodas. Healthy? Anything but. Yet, it’s these moments when we can satisfy a craving that we seem to appreciate eating Korean food even more given it’s healthy nature. I love that Korean food often revolves around kimchi (fermented cabbage with added spices), soups and rice. Although there are certainly unhealthy Korean foods that are a bit greasy, it’s not even close to being half as bad as many of the western junk food counterparts. I’ve personally found that trying McDonald’s in different countries is a bit of a cultural experience. The menu in country is quite different often featuring local flavors, dishes or delicacies that are unique to the region. For example, in Korea I’ve had the Bulgogi burger which is beef marinated in sweet sauce ; while in India I’ve indulged in the Maharaja Mac which was similar to Big Mac but instead of beef it was made with chicken.
What was on the menu for us? A quarter pounder for the girl, a double quarter pounder for the boy, French fries, and Coca-Cola! It was delicious to the last bite! Have you ever seen somebody eat so much ketchup? Hopefully not! I have to admit that was WAY TOO MUCH 😉 We’ll be back to healthy for our next meal 😛
