With a slogan of ‘Better Than Authentic’ we had to try out some of favorite Mexican dishes (specifically fajitas and enchiladas) at this popular eatery located in Jongno, Seoul, South Korea.
We don’t often get a chance to visit Seoul during the weekday, given the demands of our regular teaching jobs; however, if we get a rare chance to visit during a weekday we often head straight to Julio to devour one of their lunch specials.
One of the reasons we enjoy this joint – more than other Mexican restaurants in Seoul – has to do with the gargantuan sized portions.
I always associate eating Mexican food with a very full stomach. There is nothing worse – in my opinion – than to have a Mexican meal and walk away still feeling a bit hungry.
With this in mind, we ordered a plate of sizzling fajitas and a gigantic stuffed enchilada.
Both of our selections came from lunch specials section: everything is served with a small side salad, chips and soda.
The food was absolutely delicious. I have no idea how we managed to polish off all of that food off; yet, we somehow did.
Aside from what we ordered there a plenty of other options such as burritos, nachos and tacos.
Although, we love most Mexican dishes we tend to order the same thing every single time…LOL
From our table we could enjoy nice scenic views of the Cheonggyecheon where many Koreans and foreigners enjoy recreational walks.
Noticing all of the businessmen scurrying about like tiny ants made me realize I was glad we had the day off to enjoy a leisurely lunch together.
Definitely check out Julio’s if you’re clamoring for Mexican food. With lunch sets ranging from 7,000 to 10,000 Won it’s great bang for buck (or should I say Won 😉 )
